In this video Rupert reads from The Book of Listening by Jean Klein. He discusses the different types of meditation and how, ultimately, true meditation is non-meditation.
Jean Klein suggests that true meditation is not really an activity or even the cessation of the activity of the mind — every such activity is a subtle contraction or effort of the mind, and it is as such the very opposite of true meditation. In this 'non meditation' there is neither something to meditate on, nor a person that meditates. There is just pure meditation, which in the absence of an object and a subject is simply being.
All action is on the horizontal plane where we are constantly in a state of efforting, becoming, doing, achieving or seeking to reach a goal. Jean Klein suggests that in true meditation we come to the vertical dimension of being, we step off the horizontal dimension of time and we stand in the timeless — we stand in eternity.

Thank you, Rupert, for sharing your insights about the nature of our essential Self through the reading of some of Jean Klein’s works. One of my favourite quotes from Jean Klein is as follows: “A wave which loses itself in the ocean does not lose a drop of water.” How I loved your words related to Awareness as it pervades our experiences–“innate peace and quite joy.” Blessings. 🙏🏻
P.S. Dear Rupert. I’d like you to know how grateful I am to you. Years ago, something “clicked” as I watched one of your videos. I realized what you were sharing, and it proved to be such an important point along my apparent journey back to re-cognition of true Self.

Dear rupert thanks, love you, poor words fails miserably to let this heart express what’s it truly feel, as one of our friend said it was you my dear which made something clicked literally ,thanks dear thanks please keep sharing, god bless you Rupert, god bless you.
Thank you again Lovely, gentle Rupert 🙂
I am reminded of Tony Parsons “there was nothing ever there (activity of the mind) ”
Blessings
Thank you, Rupert!
So precious ❤
So many “spiritual” traditions come to this very point. My late zen teacher referred to it as the “stopless stop.” Many Buddhist traditions call this “suchness” or “tathata.”
With so many “explanations” (of “suchness, or “non-meditation”) out there throughout the ages it can be very confusing as to which “flavor” to choose.
Rupert’s brief lecture here reminds me a lot of the talks my own teachers used to give in trying to convey the same “pointless point.”
I’m glad we are still making this effort..together
Effortless action or ‘wu wei’ from daoism is one that I like. As well as the expression of going with the flow
Excellent 🙏🌟❤️🌟🙏
Beautiful words in the passages you read. Inspired from Mandukya Upanishad. I hope in the book Kline acknowledges the source.
Swami Sarvapriyananda’s talk on Who Am I inspired by Mandukya Upanishad is a great resource to understand Turiya, the fourth state of consciousness that is both transcendent and immanent to the waking, dreaming and deep sleep states.
Thanks for sharing

Words however “enlightened” are always a noise, that is misleading. Drinking water is very different than saying I taste water before you lift the glass. What he says is interesting no doubt, and I take his speech as a training for my intellect, nothing more. Once he is finished, is as if my mind was a mirror, that does not retain anything it reflected. It’s a funny feeling, but I cherish it as the only treasure my mind has.
“Tone 1 – Magnetic
Unconditional love, the one heart, indivisible essence, core vibration, new beginnings, chalice of the infinite, All That Is.
One is the ray of unity with self and Source. Call forth the resonance of your true vibration. Feel the pulse of this ecstatic frequency of the One. You are being offered profound awakenings and the exquisite radiance of unconditional love. This is a time of new beginnings in your life. Be active in your individual expression, committed to the growth of your Essence Self.
You contain the paradox of the “separate” self and unity with the One. You are simultaneously the primal point of beginning and the crowing culmination. You are the initiator. You are the one who opens the way. Stand in the unity of your Essence Self and focus on the reality of the one heart. You are the wisdom you seek!”
An excerpt from The Mayan Oracle
When one stops thinking, one then understands that it has nothing to do with the thought of what one is in itself, but rather the learning of what one has become, and that is the reflection of one’s current state of being.
I dont know ANY other organizations that offer financial assistance for ANYTHING. maybe there are but i dont know of any. It is truly wonderful that your teachings are available free to everyone. You truly are a blessing Rupert. 🙏👍❤
Your comment is appreciated. With love, Rupert’s team
Thanks for bringing so many to a more receptive mood, and, delivering a message of acceptance & commonality while we’re there, here?…. haha love for now.
Thank you for your comment. With love, Rupert’s team
Rupert basically talks about the difference between concentration and meditation.
Important observation. With love, Rupert’s team
Could this be the meaning of a saying of Jesus – Narrow is the way and straight is the path and few there are who find it.? I’d say it is. Thank you Robert.
You are welcome. With love, Rupert’s team
