How To Meditate For Beginners! In this video, I'm going to tell you, where to meditate, how to meditate, how to stop thinking, how long to meditate for, even how long before you start seeing the benefits.
Meditation has almost become mainstream by this point, but most people are not doing it right. Or rather, they are meditating in a way, that will not make the habit stick over a long period of time. My Meditation approach is more geared towards the average person, as opposed to the monk who lives in the mountains. For example, I understand that a lot of people want to start meditating in order to help them sleep, I cover this specific topic in the video.
I hope all you beginner meditators out there, become long term meditators after watching this!

Bro thank you for this video
You should add the fact that meditation is a dangerous way, we may lost ourselves into our bad thoughts.
I could careless what “celebrities” do or do not do. They are over-paid people who put their pants on the same way as I do. I am not one to glorify these people because they took acting lessons and was in the right place at the right time. They are nothing special and are not a hero to me by no stretch of the imagination. Gain merit to your videos by your own accomplishments and not because anyone else does it regardless of who it is.
I once was with my class at a Buddhist temple and at the end of our guide, we started to meditate. That level of meditation is insane because I have never experienced meditation that much, ever. I felt like I was about to fly, my hands started to levitate and my bottom started to feel as it was leaving the cushion we sat on. This made me smile and focus on all the cool stuff with flying so sadly I did not manage to fly but it was so cool!
I heard that meditation triggers the same areas of your brain that are triggered when you eat psychedelic mushrooms
@Salvatore S. Interesting. And with psychedelic mushrooms, you mean the drug?
Punchy sounds like me when I smoke a gram of that haze
Following buddish scripture said, never pursue this feeling, to pursue feeling is dangerous. Because something will occupy the mind. meditation can let us understand our mind(why do we think .. how about our emotion…) it is like philosophy and psychological. Budda tell us meditation just one of all methods for understanding our mind. If your mind is triggered, you will find yourself very intelligent. But Budda also say, that is just true you not mysterious at all. For me ,Buddhist is more like a school. Not a religion. Budda even said I am not God. I just teach you how to find your true mind. ..end. ( I am not a native English person. Sorry my poor expression)
Sasino _ props for citing where you got it from 🙂
Your animations are amazing and make this so fun to watch. May I ask how you make them? Maybe you could create a video going through your workflow or a skillshare course.I think that’d be really successful and I know I’d love to see that.
After watching your video on “COMMITMENT” ,I was making my new daily routine. And I thought to do meditation as first thing in the morning but didn’t knew how to do it so googled it but didn’t even got the idea. But next day,I saw your meditation video in recommendation and was surprised that how excellent the universe works.
Thank you for making such awesome videos.
awesome video again! I really enjoy your story telling. I am actually inspired to create videos the same way as you do. Thanks for doing videos like this!
*As a child we love heroes, But as an adult we understand villain*
That acc sounds fucking mad. Where’d you find that
Preto do Zimbabwe you dont get it? The sentence is a breath dont get bother/distracted by a things like this
Football strike brotherhood Football strike ..and when I grow up I can decide if I want to be a hero or a villain, it is my responsibility
Wish you the best
How can this be unrelated but damn relatable at the same time…?
@am-bee 🤣
I meditate laying down on my back. I have never been able to fall asleep in that position, so falling asleep is not an issue. Also, if you suffer from insomnia, learn to meditate and meditate while laying in bed rather than worrying about not getting enough sleep. At least then you are doing something productive and helpful.
Me too, it’s so relaxing
Too much effort in sitting upright for me
Yeah exactly. You don’t need to sit in any strange pose to get benefits. That’s why most people never try it. I talk about meditation on my channel a lot. Check it out if you are interested.
Literally watching this at 2 pm n I’ve been awake since yesterday n I wanna still awake till the night so I can fix my sleep schedule 🙁
Same.
I don’t know if you believe in God or not. Either way, I’m sending prayers your way. This video saved me. This helped with my anxiety so much
You can’t begin to imagine how calm I felt after the first meditation
adebola badiru …“I‘m sending prayers your way“…what a precious statement!
I am sure Haeven is happy about you.
You can connect better with God when you meditate
robb99 ..and why not pray right away if we want a connection with GOD? Jesus said: come to me all you are arduous and burdened .. i want to refresh you.
Matthew 11/28
Wish you all the best
I think instead of setting the limit of meditation to 5-10 minutes you should just meditate for as long as you feel like it. I’ve noticed setting a time can take away from the experience because it can end up just popping into your head while you’re trying to not focus on anything and just exist. Sometimes I’ll start meditating and I’ll be satisfied with 10 minutes sometimes I’ll go for up to 45 minutes to an hour. It all depends on what I need in the moment.
Honestly this is amazing advice. Sometimes I need 10 minutes, sometimes I need an hour or more. You definitely have a good grasp of meditation.
I love your videos! Lately ive been thinking how to meditate, how to stop think while meditate and it helpss me a lot.
I had started my daily meditations about two months ago and the difference in how I see the world and feel about myself and everything/everyone else now is HUGE!!! Meditation is a key to inner peace and happiness. Namaste 💗🙏
Awesome! How long do you meditate per day? And what parts of the day do you do it
I concur
The whole point of meditation is awareness. It is not to “not think”. It’s not the focusing on your breath that’s so important, it’s the re-focusing on your breath when you realise your mind has wandered that’s the important bit. That’s what strengthens your awareness. I think this is an important distinction to make, as telling people the point is ‘not to think’ can be very off putting for beginners, and also just wrong.
thanks
Good point and very true
Thanks 🙏
The guy knows nothing. He is begginer him self
I have been starting meditation for a month now at first I had a hard time finding time to meditate because I would just usually procrastinate but after taking your advice of forcing my self to meditate before I could eat breakfast I have been able to consistently meditate every morning for about 2 weeks now I feel more energized throughout the day . Thank you for your tips
The first time I actually meditated when i came out of the state it ended up being over 4 hours later. It’s just so realaxing, and I can imagine myself in like a beach and actually see the beach. It really is amazing and really interesting. I recommend it to anyone who needs help sleeping, or just to relax. Thank you,
Did you have any issues with quieting your mind? I battle with random wandering thoughts 🤯
@Ashley same just take deep breaths then try to focus. You’ll feel different. Also don’t make yourself relax actually try to relax it helps
There are so many wonderful guided meditations out there. I find it easier and more relaxing to meditate this way. Do you ever use them? Are there any disadvantages of using this style?
Meditation helps you clear your head, meditation improves your concentration levels, memory, creativity and also makes you feel rejuvenated.
When meditating , if you have more thoughts comming in then you should know this “ let it go”, let go of everything, fear, stress, your plan for the day or night or sleep or anything at all. Just let it go. And focus on what you see when your eyes are closed. Just focus on that, and you will do well. Some people have a hard time not-thinking because they have a lot going on in their life. Keep doing it for longer until your mind lets go. Hope this helps
I’ve been hearing a lot of people saying to “let go”, but I don’t quite grasp its meaning or intent. Do you mean like, when stressful or anxious thought comes in, I should focus for example on my breath instead of letting the thought stay in my mind?
@Joana Ferroyea just think about how your feeling in this exact moment how your body feels what your seeing focus one you and only what’s happening to you don’t worry about anything that’s going to or might happen
@Joana Ferro what meditation means is; you need to feel connected to the mind and soul NOT your body in such a way that you get into that Zen state. focusing on the breath is one way of focusing on a point, but in the long run focusing on what is in the mind will get you better with it. whenever you feel your mind is not stopping to think about things when you meditate, you have to understand that like any other stuff this takes practice. The more you do it, the better you get. you might say what does practice really mean? well, practice means every time when you sit down to meditate, your mind will become hyperactive with lots of thoughts, don’t fight it rather embrace it and keep thinking until it all goes away. in a simpler way, imagine a sink full of water and when it drains it creates a turbulence in the entire water and it takes a while to drain off all the water but eventually it does. your thoughts are the water and your mind is the sink when you sit down to meditate that is when you pull the drain plug for your thoughts; it really does take a while. when you close your eyes, try to look whatever you see when your eyes are closed. in my case my mind interprets a black dot becoming larger and larger until it’s total blackness.
like i said it requires practice, the more you do it the better you get at meditation and understanding your mind and how your mental state handles the turbulence of thoughts you get. i would advice to do it more often and keep practicing until you get comfortable with it and it will definitely help you improve your mental state and get better with practicing medication. Hope it helps.!!
@Joana Ferroa mantra that really helps me to let go while meditating is: when I have a thought that I want to let go I say In my mind…” I’m having the thought of ____, and that’s okay. I am safe and I can let it go now…” then continue breathing and focusing on the present senses.
You don’t want to push away thoughts, they are just like clouds they come and go. Treat them as so, observe them, and know that you are not your thoughts, tell yourself it’s okay, and let it pass on by and ground further into your senses.
At first I believed in meditating and after trying it for the time, It made me feel at peace, I have been stressing and overwhelmed with everything going on but when I did it, it made me realize how strong I am, it gave me a peace I haven’t felt in a while
Wow. First time trying meditation using your tips and 10mins felt like 2min fr
For the first time I felt I freed myself from the chains of this depressed world. Thank you so much dud stay safe
