@Rishi Sadar religion does not matter every religion have their own significance
Even do it day by day . Just set a good intention before sleeping tomorrow I ll meditate 10 minutes when I wake up . If you don t do it the next day do beat yourself and try again gently . By being kind with yourself you ll do wonders . Make it your special moment of peace for the day . Your me time ๐ eventually you don t be able not to meditate . But it takes time . I took years to create an habit for my practice . Don t create too much expectations . Gently kindly with patience ๐ be well
Thank you ๐ this video motivated me now to really meditate with smaller steps first, so I don’t get overwhelmed too quickly ๐๐ป
Thank you dear Rinpiche for being such a kind, wise, and generous teacher. Please stay with us till the end of times. Much love and respect to you!
lovely: very helpful, calm and told with loving kindness and lots of smiles.Thank you:)
Rinpoche’s teachings have truly changed my life.
I formally meditate every day, but I also meditate at red lights. Yeah, at first, that was tough, as I used to hate sitting at red lights and wasting time. But after a few weeks, my mind began to get used to the brief moments of focus. I can’t say I look forward to red lights, but they’ve become a reminder to focus on myself and my breathing. Every time I stop at a red light, I realize how tense or anxious I am, and I have a minute to process that. Red lights are a good way to do a very quick awareness meditation, and the good news is, it gives you several opportunities throughout the day to check in with yourself.
I have tinnitus. Whenever the environment is quiet, I hear the ringing. I use it as a que to meditate. (since when it happens, I’ve just become aware of it so I’m already half way there LOL) I actually appreciate quiet times and my little reminder sound!
I do the same thing! I focus on mindful breathing at red lights!
sorry but what do you mean by red lights?
@olie rosal Red traffic lights.
U sound like me …and so does master! Lol
Changed my life too this wonderful humorous man…I always come back to him๐๐
Actually meditation is not work but relaxation. Your brain will be very grateful. My brain feels relaxed like when lying on a beach.
Thank you Rinpoche for your generosity and encouragement. I avoid meditating but I want to begin.
Sir …….l learnt how to meditate listening to your speeches . Your teaching is superb and you have made meditation easy for everyone.
I love the wake up and meditate, no excuse like I need to shower or this or that first๐โจ
Rinpoche! Just watching your mannerisms and hearing your laughter is guidance enough! Thank you.
So great, so simple, so perfect teatching, thank you! ๐๐
Anytime during the day we can watch our breath and watch our thoughts and then by watching a thought it will disappear on its own. Watching the breath feels good. That is meditation. We should not try to get rid of thoughts because that leads to repression. Thoughts in themselves are not the problem, holding on to thoughts is the problem.
100%
So true. I have insomnia and many a times thought of insomnia and not getting enough sleep makes it worst. I am trying to practice meditation and I hope and pray I can conquer this problem. That’ll be my happiest day ๐
@Jetsun As you lie in bed you might try watching your breath: there is doing twice the amount of exhalation as inhalation, and there is the 4-7-8 breathing, but I would try Belly Breathing by breathing out the Diaphragm which stimulates the Vagus Nerve, and then watching the breath carefully and imagining one’s consciousness drifting asleep by going inwards in a state of body stillness, since imagination can work. Good luck.
@silentrotation : Thank you so much for the advice and tips. I will definitely try your method. Thanks again…means a lot.
Very nice and simple explanation of meditation. This reminded me the meditation taught by Shila Maa at our AMC at Samangad Kolhapur. Thank you Guruji.
Today will be the 42nd day since I started meditating at least 5min per day. I started doing it formally, sitting on my bed, but sometimes I did it while I was doing other things or at the bus. The downside is that I don’t see many of the benefits after the practice itself, so I want to put more time into it, but don’t feel encouraged. At least with the 5min I think I’ll continue.
Usually in the beginning 5mins your mind is slowly starting to slow down, the bliss comes a little more around 10 for me!
@ofincense yes, I’ll try to put some more minutes on it
Lazy meditator here, thank you so much, I will meditate right now before going to bed for a few minutes. I even got my new meditation cushion out so I can sit on the floor in a slightly more self disciplined way, rather than meditate on my sofa. I’ll breath in, breath out ๐
I started meditation in 2014 the same way, 5 minutes per day, staring at a candle with the timer on, and I gradually extended my meditation time until I didnโt need the timer. Then I started meditating in nature also, under a tree like Bouddha โ๏ธ๐โฆ fun fact is that itโs only a few years after that I found your channel, and a few months later, I was told by a friend that he started meditation with an app and that there was a Tergar Meditation practice in my town. Now Iโm still meditating 1h daily and I keep pushing the time limit as it goes. Thanks for the good vibes ๐
I set up my phone to remind me almost every hour of my day so whatever I was doing I would pause for a minute (or less) and feel stillness inside, breathe deeply and repeat a specific affirmation (every day a different affirmation fulfills the predetermined value of the day. ๐ป
